Betty Schelb:
I will have been employed at Fairhaven for 46 years on June 13, 2025. I started as a line staff member in the housekeeping department and worked my way up through the positions of supervisor, and manager and then became the Department Director. I have had the privilege of working under all three of Fairhaven’s CEO’s.
The main reason I have remained at Fairhaven for as many years as I have is my love for the residents. The relationships formed with them are a bond that is extremely special. What is even more special is that I now serve residents that I originally met when they were younger when they came to visit their parents or other relatives.
Another reason that I enjoy working at Fairhaven is that I have a dedicated and hardworking housekeeping team who also truly care about the residents and each other, as does the staff in the other departments. I consider Fairhaven staff and residents to be my second family.
I am an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit #166 of Fort Atkinson WI. Which is the city in which I live. When not volunteering for programs for my ALA Unit, I enjoy spending my spare time playing cards, board & dice games, and going up to the Northwoods with extended family members and friends.
Mary Loomis:
My passion for the senior population began as a young girl, helping my grandparents and other senior relatives in any way I could. My first job was working at a senior living facility when I was in high school. While there, I created relationships with residents that I still remember fondly today.
I have a bachelor’s degree in human services management and a master’s degree in healthcare administration with a focus on gerontology. I have previously worked as a Director and as a Manager in home medical equipment companies, and also in a variety of customer service positions.
I’ve been at Fairhaven Senior Services since July 2024 and my favorite part of working here is building relationships with the residents.
Outside of work I enjoy reading, writing, spending time with my children and grandchildren, church, and hanging out with my dog Snoop.
