To prevent the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) into our community, Fairhaven will continue with a NO VISITORS status. We do this for the protection of those most vulnerable to the virus and appreciate the understanding of our residents, their families, and our community.

What are we doing?

We want to keep Fairhaven Residents and Family members up to date on the things we are doing to prepare, monitor, and prevent the Coronavirus within our community. For a quick update on the things we are doing to prepare, monitor, and prevent the Coronavirus within our community, CLICK HERE for a letter from President/CEO Paul Kuenning.

Fairhaven continues to monitor what is happening within the state through the Wisconsin Health Department and CDC. There are no cases in the facility at this time.

Fairhaven is taking the steps below and will modify as necessary.

Steps We Are Taking

For Residents:

  • Monitoring symptoms daily
  • Only small group gatherings, and NO community events
  • Only critical or medical emergency trips out of the facility
  • Providing education and training with residents regarding measures taken to prevent the spread of infection, hand hygiene and respiratory etiquette

For Staff:

  • Monitoring health, and temperatures taken for all employees before each shift
  • Maintaining focus on prevention, infection control, and hand hygiene
  • Reviewing protocol for cleaning and sanitation
  • Reviewing emergency plans and responses

For Family and Visitors:

  • Encouraging other forms of communication such as phone calls, skype, facetime, etc.
  • If you have traveled outside the state/country or to an area known to have an outbreak or are experiencing any symptoms, please let us know your status.

We will provide updates as necessary on our website and in communications with you. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact Fairhaven at 262-473-2140.

Thank you for your understanding and for helping to protect the health and safety of all we care for.

COVID-19 Update 5/21/2020

Earlier this month it was announced by Gov. Tony Evers that all Nursing Homes and Staff throughout Wisconsin would be able to get tested for COVID-19 and on Tuesday, May 19th we began that process throughout all of Fairhaven Senior Services. On Tuesday we tested the apartment residents and staff, Wednesday was Hearthstone, Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing Residents and on Thursday we will be testing the residents at Prairie Village.

Each day we have had a courier pick up the kits and take them to a Lab in Madison where results will be given to us within 24-48 hours and notifications will be made to our Infection Control Nurse. It is our hope that all 420 tests come back negative, but we are bracing and prepared for the possibility that it might not be the case. If there is a positive case, we will immediately begin taking all proper actions and work together with our County Health Officials and others just like we have been throughout this entire process.

We feel it is best to continue to keep our residents, family, and others informed as we continue to navigate through COVID-19. Knowing that all results will not be in until the weekend, we are continuing to keep all precautions in place for residents, staff, and visitors as guided by the CDC and State/Local Health Officials.

All of us would love to have family members, activities, and other events taking place to bring us closer to a sense of normal but we are not there yet. We thank everyone for their patience and understanding during this time. Stay Safe and Healthy!
